What makes Baustelle 4U special

Hundreds of small rainbow flags hang everywhere, and behind the bar there are pennants, construction helmets and construction and traffic signs, to match the name (Baustelle means building site). The corners glow in different colours, and disco balls hang from the ceiling. In summer most guests sit in the large outdoor area right on Heumarkt.

Schlager and Cologne music to sway along to are played. For groups there’s the Pittermännchen, a 10-litre keg of Kölsch, for €90.

Atmosphere and crowd

It’s men only here, only men are admitted. As usual on Heumarkt the crowd is older than on Schaafenstraße, most are between 35 and 60. Even on Mondays there are around 20 guests, at weekends it gets packed and people dance until the early morning.

The flirt factor is high, especially at weekends.
