What makes the Ramrod special

The Ramrod opened in 1994 and helped establish the gay nightlife district between north Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors. Inside, industrial elements, gargoyles and prison-cell details set the tone, along with a pool table and the LeatherWerks shop (Tue, Fri, Sat from 8 pm).

Behind the building is the Skull & Boner patio bar, a quieter area. Candidates sponsored by the Ramrod have twice won the International Mr. Leather title, and a Mr. Ramrod has been crowned every year since 1995.

Atmosphere and crowd

Mostly men, mostly over 40, in leather, jeans or uniform, but with no fixed dress code outside the theme nights. The mood is cruisy and warm at the same time, and respectful newcomers are welcome.
