In 2001 the Netherlands became the first country in the world with marriage equality – and Amsterdam is still one of the most relaxed cities for gay travellers.
Besides Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague have their own scenes and Prides. The highlight of the year is the Canal Parade in Amsterdam in early August.
