What makes Café Prinzs special

Prinzs is in Karlsruhe’s city centre near the market square. To the right of the entrance the bar glows in rainbow colours, at the back a comfortable bench invites you to stay a long time, and there are tea lights on the tables. The decor is high-quality and cosy. Besides cocktails and beer there’s coffee, cake and small snacks, and on Sundays Prinzs opens as early as 3 pm.

Prinzs explicitly sees itself as a queer bar where non-queer guests are also welcome. During mann-liebt-mann.de’s visits it was mostly men, and the crowd is younger than in many other queer venues and often student. The bar team welcomes newcomers openly, and many regulars appreciate the atmosphere. In Google reviews the cocktails and the warm team are among the things most often praised.

Karlsruhe has only a few queer venues, so Prinzs is all the more important for the scene. There’s also a queer party at Rosapark on the first Saturday of the month and a well-known gay sauna, Aqualand.
