What makes Café Rifugio special

Rifugio is on Schönbrunner Straße in the 5th district, just a few steps from the Naschmarkt and the bars on Gumpendorfer Straße. It’s a small café bar with a few tables and a bar where you quickly get talking with the other guests. Unlike most bars in the neighbourhood, Rifugio opens as early as 10 am and closes at 10 pm, so it’s more a meeting place during the day and early evening.

The host is Helmut, who with his team puts great emphasis on a personal, family-style atmosphere. In Google reviews Rifugio is described as a nice, communicative little gay bar with a pleasant atmosphere and a mixed crowd, especially when you don’t know where to go in the morning.
