What makes The Late Birds stand out

The house is in a quiet alley between Bairro Alto and Santa Catarina. There are plenty of shared spaces: a breakfast room, lounge, piano bar, a wellness area and the “Oasis” with garden, pool and deck. There are explicitly no nude areas.

The Garden rooms have large wooden windows onto the garden, the suites more space. All rooms are booked as bed & breakfast, with the breakfast buffet included. With “Bird’s Eye”, the team puts together its own guide to the city’s bars, clubs, saunas and restaurants.

Atmosphere and crowd

By its own account, The Late Birds is aimed primarily at gay men but excludes no one: women and friends of the community are welcome, they just ask that you know the concept before booking. By the pool and in the lounge it is easy to get chatting with other guests.
