What makes Mary’s on Haight special
Mary’s is the only queer bar in Haight-Ashbury and carries on from Trax, which had been here for decades. The decor is simple, with a pool table and couches, and Kylie and Troye Sivan play in the background. Guests praise the cheap drinks and the relaxed neighbourhood vibe. Some nights are very quiet.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for a low-key bar away from the Castro
- want to play pool
Not ideal if you …
- expect a big scene and party atmosphere
