What makes Era special
Era fills a gap in a scene otherwise made up mainly of pubs, dance bars, clubs and cruising bars. The ceiling lights bathe the room in red light, on the left there’s a seating area with benches and cushions, next to it the bar with stools and standing tables. Music videos play on a TV, and the music stays in the background.
Besides beer and spritzers there’s a large selection of teas, hot drinks, wines, long drinks, cocktails and shots, and during the day breakfast, cake and small dishes too.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is mostly male and between 30 and 60. Scene-goers meet here as well as guests who find the area around Schaafenstraße and Heumarkt too hectic. People talk rather than flirt.
A good fit if you …
- want to spend a few cosy hours in a queer café
- prefer conversation to party volume
- want to start from here for Schaafenstraße
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for a party, dance floor or cruising
- are looking for a young scene crowd
