What makes Kraftwerk special

If you walk from Sendlinger Tor into the Glockenbachviertel, after about 100 metres you pass Kraftwerk, right next to the gay scene shop Brunos. A wooden floor, wooden tables and a long bar give the room an elegant look, and many paintings hang on the walls. There’s also a large outdoor area where hardly a seat stays free on mild summer evenings.

Kraftwerk is one of the few queer addresses where you can have a proper meal. Breakfast is served from 10 am to 3 pm, at lunchtime there’s pasta, burgers, schnitzel and salads, among other things, plus a large selection of cakes. In the evening guests switch to long drinks and cocktails. Prices are rather below the Munich average.

The crowd is mostly between 30 and 60. In the afternoon especially, many gay men have their dates here, and you easily get talking on your own too. Edelheiss and NiL are a few minutes away, and from here you can comfortably explore the whole neighbourhood on foot.
