What makes Baragraph special
Coloured lamps, upholstery and wallpaper from the seventies define the small room. Baragraph is a bar to settle into: many guests come for an apéro after work, others stay late into the night. There is draught beer, and the team also mixes cocktails to order.
In Google reviews, guests particularly praise the warm-hearted owner, the good atmosphere and the tables outside, where you can sit late on warm evenings. The crowd is mixed: gay regulars from Basel, people from the neighbourhood and visitors coming over from the neighbouring venues on Barfüsserplatz.
Because the bar is open every day from 5 pm, it is the most reliable place in Basel for a drink among men, even during the week. For partying and dancing, many then move on to parties such as the monthly queer party at Heimat or, on Tuesdays, ZischBar at the Kaserne.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for a gay bar in the Old Town that’s open every day
- like retro design and cocktails
- want to sit outside
Not ideal if you …
- want to dance; that’s what Basel’s party series are for
- need a lot of space: the room is small
