What makes Cassero stand out

Cassero LGBTQIA+ Center is Arcigay’s provincial committee in Bologna and has been politically active for over 40 years. Under one roof you’ll find a reception desk, legal and psychological counselling, health services, a documentation centre, the magazine La Falla as well as youth and discussion groups. The association is also involved in the Gender Bender festival.

A good part of the work is funded through nightlife: under the name Disco Cassero there are parties every week, regularly a pop night on Wednesdays, and changing parties on Fridays and Saturdays from minimal techno to K-pop. The dance floor opens onto a section of the old Reno canal.

Atmosphere and crowd

The crowd is young, colourful and queer mixed, with many students from the university city. Entry to events requires an Arcigay card, which you can also take out on the night at the door.
