The 19 Bar by Loring Park has been open since 1952 and is considered the oldest gay bar in Minneapolis. After a fire in March 2024 it was rebuilt and reopened in February 2025.

What makes 19 Bar special
The 19 Bar is a simple pub with a jukebox, pool tables and dartboards. The Star Tribune once called it the city’s best old-school gay bar. After the rebuild, owner Gary Hallberg handed the bar over to long-time manager Craig Wilson.
