What makes Akbar special

Akbar is a bar with lots going on: comedy and craft nights during the week, disco, techno and theme parties in the back room at the weekend. The jukebox is well known, and the crowd is mixed and relaxed. After 27 years the founders handed the bar over to their long-time managers, who continue the concept.

Programme

The monthly calendar on the website lists an event almost every night, in October 2026 for example ABBA Night, Funk That! and Halloween parties. The City of Los Angeles lists Akbar as a Legacy Business.
