What makes Arts Project of Cherry Grove special
The Arts Project is part of the history of Cherry Grove as one of the first queer settlements in the USA. In summer there are plays, revues, variety and drag nights with people from the island and guests. With partners like National Queer Theater there are reading series. The programme is smaller and more local than the nightlife, but close to the community.
Programme
In 2026 the calendar included the Change Arts FI Theater Festival with ‘Pride House’ by Chris Weikel and, in October, the Long Island Round Up. Tickets go through arts-people.com.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for queer history and theatre
- want to experience something away from the parties
Not ideal if you …
- expect nightlife
