What makes the Dallas Eagle special
The Dallas Eagle is part of the nationwide network of Eagle bars. After many years at its old location, it reopened in October 2023 under new owners in a standalone building in the Design District.
There is a large main bar, a second bar next to a spacious dance floor and changing art by local queer artists on the walls. Every night has its theme, from Bear Night on Thursday to Tea Dance Trash Disco on Sunday. The bar is also a hub during the Texas Bear Round-Up.
Atmosphere and crowd
Mostly men from their mid-30s, leather, bears and kink scene, but no dress code: some come in full gear, others in jeans and a T-shirt. The atmosphere is considered welcoming and cruisy.
A good fit if you …
- like the leather, gear or bear scene
- are looking for theme nights with a dance floor
- want a tea dance on Sunday
Not ideal if you …
- want to walk from Cedar Springs Road
- are looking for a mixed bar with a female crowd
