Forty Nine is the association bar of HOSI Linz: set up by volunteers in a former bar on Schillerstraße in 2018, today a cosy meeting place and party venue for the queer community in Linz.

What makes Forty Nine special

HOSI Linz, one of the oldest queer associations in Austria, runs Forty Nine as a meeting place for the community: on some evenings a cosy bar for conversation, on others a party venue. It’s mainly volunteers behind the bar. Besides the large room there’s a smaller side room, and the premises are partly accessible.

Regular events

Besides bar service at weekends there are monthly formats: on the second Thursday the Ladies*Night for women, trans*, inter* and non-binary people, on the second Friday the Queer Talk for exchange with HOSI, and on the third Thursday a Trans* Inter* meet-up. For events HOSI recommends reserving by email or online form.
