What makes Hafen special

Hafen is an institution in Schöneberg’s rainbow neighbourhood. In the middle is a small dance floor, and in the entrance area stools at the bar and high tables invite you to linger. On our visits the bar team has always been courteous and up for a quick chat, though at weekends it gets too busy for that.

The crowd is mixed, with most guests between 30 and 40. Hafen sees itself as a place open to everyone. In mann-liebt-mann.de’s flirt test, Hafen came top in Berlin: the mix of bar area and dance floor means you quickly get chatting.

Unusually for a gay bar, Hafen is open seven days a week, including Mondays. Heile Welt, Blond and other bars on Motzstraße are right around the corner, so the evening is easy to continue on foot.
