The bar describes itself as probably the smallest and cosiest scene bar in the heart of Leipzig and recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. That makes it one of the oldest venues of its kind in the city. The Havanna Club is known for its two happy hours: every evening from 7 to 8 pm and again from midnight to 1 am, all drinks are half price. Beer is on tap, plus shots from €1.80, wine and sparkling wine. Because the bar is open until 5 am every day, it is also a place for a last drink when other venues have already closed. The crowd is very mixed; the bar sees itself as a meeting place for the LGBTIQ* community and anyone who likes the charm of the place. In Google reviews, bar staff Carmen and Andreas are praised by name again and again, and guests describe the atmosphere as open and warm. If you are new in town, you quickly get talking to the regulars.A good fit if you …like a small scene pub with regularswant to drink cheaply, especially during happy hourare looking for a drink after midnightare a tourist wanting to get to know Leipzig’s sceneNot ideal if you …want to danceneed lots of space; the bar is smallare looking for a young party crowd; the Apart is the place for thatOur tip: Come at 7 pm or at midnight, when happy hour applies and every drink is half price.
