What makes M&V Bar special

From the outside, M&V Bar is recognisable as a queer address by the several rainbow flags on its facade. In front of it is the outdoor area, screened from the street by flowers. On beer benches or more comfortable chairs you sit there sheltered from curious glances.

Inside, dark wooden benches and the atmospherically lit bar give it a pub feel, and glitter on the wall and rainbow flags create the queer ambience. There’s draught beer, cocktails and small snacks.

Atmosphere and crowd

The crowd is mostly male and between 30 and 60 years old. The bar describes itself as a meeting place for “Sailors and frequent flyers, machos and vamps, millionaires and vagabonds”, and the guests are just as colourfully mixed. If you start your evening in St. Georg, you’ll almost inevitably pass by here, and it’s a five-minute walk from the main station.
