What makes QZM special
The centre is run by the non-profit association Queeres Zentrum Mannheim, and the City of Mannheim funds its work. QZM sees itself as a low-threshold, inclusive and anti-racist place where everyone should feel safe and welcome. The café is non-smoking. In the same building PLUS Rhein-Neckar runs the queer youth club “gut so” for young people aged 14 to 27.
Programme
During the week numerous groups and regulars’ meet-ups take place, including the Lesbian-Gay History Workshop and a self-help group for trans* people. There’s also the QZM living room, game nights, karaoke, rock nights, workshops and cultural evenings. Many groups take a break in August. The newsletter, published every two weeks, gives an overview.
