What makes Queermunity special
Queermunity is a meeting place without a bar or nightlife: coffee and workspaces by day, workshops, markets and groups in the evening. It’s run by Kayla Barth and Hilary Otey as a social enterprise that puts its income into free programming. Entry is free.
Programme
There’s regular help with health insurance, monthly HIV testing with Red Door Outreach, community acupuncture and meetups for newcomers to the city. In June 2026 the programme included a Pride celebration and an AIDS Memorial Quilt exhibition.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for a queer space without alcohol
- want to work or meet people during the day
Not ideal if you …
- want to go out partying in the evening
