What makes the Camelford Arms special
The Camelford Arms is on a quiet side street between St James’s Street and the seafront. The pub has a classic British interior, is very dog-friendly and popular with the bear scene.
The kitchen serves pub food, and on Sundays people come for the roast. Besides beer there are cocktails, cream tea and Italian coffee. You can book tables by phone or email, but it is usually not necessary.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is mostly male and mostly over 35, plus Kemptown neighbours with their dogs. It is easy to get chatting, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for a relaxed pub with a bear crowd
- like a Sunday roast and live music
- are out with your dog
Not ideal if you …
- want to dance
- are looking for an under-30 crowd
