What makes The Iron Bear special
The Iron Bear was founded by and for the bear scene and has been on West 6th Street for more than ten years. It is a bar and grill in one, with a kitchen, a stage and a dance floor that turns into a small club late at night.
During the week karaoke, trivia, poker and DJ nights alternate. Plus there are events such as Underwear Night on long weekends and the annual Belly Contest.
Atmosphere and crowd
Laid-back and mostly local: bears, cubs and the men who like them, most from their mid-30s. There is no dress code and no door policy, and newcomers quickly get chatting.
A good fit if you …
- like the bear scene
- want to eat and then dance
- are looking for an easy-going bar in Downtown
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for a mixed bar with a female crowd
- want a big club
