What makes Thor’s Hammer stand out

Thor’s Hammer is on Strada Blănari on the edge of Bucharest’s old town and is one of the city’s few permanent gay bars. The interior is small, well kept and cosy, and in summer the action moves out onto the terrace.

Alongside regular bar nights there’s karaoke, bear nights, women’s nights and theme parties. We haven’t been able to reliably confirm fixed weekdays for these.

Atmosphere and crowd

With 4.4 stars from 435 Google reviews, the bar is one of the best-rated in the city. Guests praise the owner and team, who often get newcomers chatting with other guests, plus good cocktails and music.
