What makes Trade special
Trade opened on 14th Street in Logan Circle in 2015. It is run by Ed Bailey, who also runs Number Nine a few doors down. The concept is deliberately simple: a no-frills bar, strong, oversized cocktails and a long happy hour. In 2025 Trade expanded into four connected rooms.
The programme includes drag shows, DJ nights, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” viewing parties and stand-up comedy. Until 8 pm every day there is the XL happy hour with beer and wine for $5.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is mostly male and comes from the neighbourhood; guests describe the atmosphere as friendly and sociable. It is busy after work, and at weekends it gets livelier late into the night.
