What makes Gayhane – House of Halay special
Gayhane has been combining queer nightlife with music from the Middle East, Turkey and the Balkans for almost three decades. On these nights the SO36 hall becomes a dance floor for halay lines and pop classics, interrupted by belly dance and drag acts. Guests praise the relaxed, mixed atmosphere beyond the usual techno clubs. At peak times it is very full and there can be queues at the door.
Programme
The subtitle of the party series is QueerOriental Dancefloor. Several DJs play, and there is usually a show act around 1 am. Exact dates are listed in the SO36 programme and in Siegessäule.
