What makes Twist special
For a long time Twist was a dance bar on Gelbehirschstraße near Konstablerwache and thus part of the Bermuda Triangle, the queer nightlife quarter north of the Zeil. In April 2025 the bar moved to Alt-Sachsenhausen, the pub district south of the Main around Klappergasse and Große Rittergasse.
At its new location Twist sees itself as a spot for good drinks and an open, diverse crowd where everyone is welcome. The focus is on dancing and singing along. Guests praise the friendly staff and the good music.
When to come
It’s only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 pm, when the party goes on until the early morning. Entry is from 18. If you want to visit the bars at Konstablerwache first, it’s about 15 minutes on foot from there across the Main to Sachsenhausen.
A good fit if you …
- want to dance and sing along at the weekend
- like a young, mixed crowd
- are out and about in Sachsenhausen
Not ideal if you …
- want to go out during the week, it’s only open on Friday and Saturday
- are looking for a quiet bar to talk, Bar Central or Switchboard suit that better
