What makes Ochsengarten special

Ochsengarten describes itself as a bar for fans of jeans, leather, uniform and rubber. Inside it’s dark and dim, and posters for parties and meet-ups of the leather and BDSM scene hang on the walls. A matching outfit is welcome, but as a rule you’ll get in wearing normal clothes too.

The building has a long history: first it was an ordinary inn, later a well-known scene meeting place frequented by celebrities such as Dirk Bach and Freddie Mercury. Ochsengarten has been a gay bar since 1967, and its regular clientele is correspondingly loyal.

In the back area men get to know each other casually, and it doesn’t always stop at conversation. The flirt factor is high, especially late at night. Many guests start beforehand at Edelheiss, just a few steps away.
