What makes Vaqueros stand out
“Vaqueros” means cowboys, and it’s meant literally: at Vaqueros on Calle Florencia many guests wear cowboy hats and boots, and banda, norteño and ranchera play on the dance floor. People dance in pairs here, often late into the night.
During the week there’s karaoke and shows with amateur drag, and occasionally western nights. There’s no entry fee, and prices are cheap for the Zona Rosa.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is mostly Mexican and relaxed, plus the curious from all over the world. Dancing is the big theme in reviews, mentioned by over a hundred guests. The atmosphere and music get praise.
A good fit if you …
- want to dance to banda rather than pop
- want to experience Mexican culture
- like dancing in pairs
Not ideal if you …
- are out on a Monday or Tuesday
- are looking for a quiet bar
