What makes La Purísima stand out
La Puri, as locals call it, opened in 2010 as an offshoot of Marrakech Salón opposite. The two floors play different music, and upstairs there’s usually more room to dance. Guests praise the friendly staff and an open atmosphere, including for trans guests. At weekends it gets very crowded and hot late at night.
A good fit if you …
- like camp and kitsch
- want to party cheaply
- want to explore the queer bars of Calle República de Cuba
Not ideal if you …
- get claustrophobic in crowds
