What makes Puchos stand out
Puchos is in Barrio La Soledad in central San José and is one of the scene’s long-standing addresses. It’s a strip bar with dancers, drag performances and a darkroom, plus DJ sets and dance nights. Leather nights and the TicOsos bear parties take place regularly.
Sauna Oráculo and the bar La Casita de Oráculo are right nearby, so the evening combines well. Cash is mentioned several times in reviews, so it’s worth having enough colones on you.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is mostly male and local. Guests praise the atmosphere and entertainment, and say it was busy even on a Thursday.
A good fit if you …
- like things explicit and playful
- are looking for bear or leather parties
- want to experience the local scene
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for a quiet bar to talk
- are out with a mixed group
