What makes Bassiani stand out

Bassiani is in the basement of the Dinamo Stadium, in a former swimming pool, and is often compared to Berghain: bunker-like, dark, with excellent sound. Since the 2018 police raid, which thousands protested by dancing in front of Parliament, the club has also been a political symbol. At the end of 2024 it joined the strike against the suspension of the EU accession process and reopened on New Year’s Eve.

At the queer Horoom Nights, people party from Saturday 11 pm until Sunday morning. If you want to get in, register online beforehand with your ID details; at the door there’s a short conversation, and your phone camera gets taped over. These rules protect the guests. Georgia passed a law in 2024 that severely restricts the rights of queer people. Visible queer life is under pressure, and discretion on the way to and from the venue is advisable.

Atmosphere and crowd

Those who get in rave about relaxed people, an underground atmosphere and grooving techno. There are chill-out and dance-floor areas, and occasional drag and performance acts. Horoom Nights are aimed at queer guests and genuine allies.
