What makes Buddies special

Buddies opened in September 2023 in the former Prohibition Bar premises. Six people took over the place, and the employees have a stake in the business, which you can feel in the homely atmosphere.

There’s a pool table, darts, sports on TV, a patio and a kitchen serving burgers, chicken tenders and mac and cheese. There’s deliberately no stage or dance floor. Wednesday is trivia, Thursday the pool tournament, and the weekend brunch.

Atmosphere and crowd

Here you’ll mainly meet regulars from the neighbourhood who know each other by first name. With 4.5 stars Buddies is one of the best-rated gay bars in Denver. If you prefer a beer and a chat to a loud dance floor, this is the place.
