What makes Cherry Grove Beach special

Cherry Grove has had a queer community since the 1940s, and the beach is part of it. The village has no roads, only boardwalks, and is reached by ferry from Sayville. After the beach, Cherry’s, Island Breeze and the Ice Palace are a few minutes away. There’s hardly any infrastructure on the beach itself.

  • are travelling without a car

Not ideal if you …

  • expect beach bars and lounger rentals on the sand
