What makes Fire Island Pines Beach special
The Pines beach is the daytime meeting point before people head to Low Tea at the harbour in the late afternoon. There are no cars in the Pines; everything is reached on foot via boardwalks. The crowd is strongly male and fashion-conscious. Supplies are available at the harbour, not on the beach.
A good fit if you …
- want to combine a beach day in the Pines with the tea dances
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for a family bathing beach
