What makes Chokladkoppen stand out
Chokladkoppen is on Stortorget, Stockholm’s oldest square, surrounded by the Old Town’s colourful gabled houses and just a few steps from the palace. Inside it’s small and cosy, and drinks are served in ceramic cups by the artist Elisabet Hallgren. Visit Stockholm lists the café as one of the city’s first openly LGBT-friendly businesses, and the rainbow flag hangs at the entrance.
The café is known for its hot chocolate with whipped cream. There are also big sandwiches, soup, quiche, lasagne and cakes such as cheesecake, princess cake and a vegan cake every day. In the evening there’s wine and beer too. In December glögg and saffron buns are on the menu, and in January and February semla.
Atmosphere and crowd
In summer most people sit outside on the square and watch the world go by. At the entrance you’ll find flyers for queer parties and events and the free magazine QX, handy for finding out what’s on in town in the evening.
A good fit if you …
