What makes Garry Klein special

Garry Klein has a long history: for years Harry Klein, a renowned club of the Munich electronic scene on Karlsplatz, became Garry Klein every Wednesday. After Harry Klein closed in 2023, the party moved to Rote Sonne, just a few hundred metres away on Maximiliansplatz.

The organisers place importance on a protected space for queer people. That’s why at the door you’re asked whether you know what kind of party is on here. Mostly loud techno is played, and at midnight there’s a show with drag artists from Munich.

Atmosphere and crowd

The crowd is rather young and, by Munich standards, fairly international, similar to NY.Club. As usual at techno parties, the music is the focus for many, but you can easily get talking on the dance floor and outside. Alongside NY.Club, Garry Klein is one of the city’s two weekly queer parties.
