What makes GT’s and Opéra 5 special

For years GT’s was one of the few queer addresses in Lausanne: upstairs a lounge for an after-work drink, in the basement the Backstage Club for weekend parties. Under the same address and phone number, the venue now operates as Opéra 5, a bar with restaurant and karaoke. Google reviewers praise the warm team, the food and the well-organised karaoke nights in the private rooms.

Whether and on which nights there are still explicitly queer parties is currently not clear from the programme. The weekly programme on the website shows what’s coming up. For a reliably queer night in Lausanne, Le Saxo on Rue de la Grotte is the safer bet.
