What makes Hanlan’s Point Beach special
Hanlan’s Point is one of the few official beaches in Canada where clothing is optional. In 1971 it hosted the Gay Day Picnic, considered Toronto’s first Pride gathering. With a view of the skyline, the beach is busy in high summer.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for a beach day close to the city
- want to swim naked
Not ideal if you …
- come outside the summer season
Our tip:Allow plenty of time for the ferry back – queues are long in the evening.
