What makes Haus of Rage stand out
Haus of Rage is run by Inder Vhatwar. The parties take place almost every week, mostly at Kitty Su, the club in The LaLiT hotel in Andheri East, not far from the airport. Now and then the series moves elsewhere, for example to Thane or to a party at the LaLiT Jaipur.
On stage are local drag artists, trans performers and go-go boys, and now and then queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race such as Peppermint and Thorgy Thor. According to Vhatwar, young queers from shelters get in free and students pay less. For Mumbai Pride 2024, Haus of Rage hosted the official afterparty at Kitty Su together with Salvation Star.
Atmosphere and crowd
The parties see themselves as a safe space. Everyone is welcome, saris, heels and make-up explicitly included. Up to 250 guests come during the week, up to 800 on Saturdays and around 1,500 for Pride parties.
A good fit if you …

- want to party with a big, mixed queer crowd
- would also like to go out during the week
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for a small, quiet bar
- are staying in south Mumbai and don’t like long journeys
