What makes Héroes Bar stand out

Héroes is a cosy, rather small meeting place in the centre of Santa Cruz. Karaoke is the big thing: the song selection is huge, and if you dare, you’ll soon be at the mic yourself. There are also cocktails, which guests like to mention because of the LED straw, occasional live performances and a VIP corner.

The bar only opens at weekends and late, but then stays open until the early morning. That makes it a good last stop on a night in the capital, while most of the island’s gay bars are in the south and in Puerto de la Cruz.

Atmosphere and crowd

You’ll mainly meet the local scene here, but visitors from elsewhere are welcome. Reviews repeatedly praise the staff as very friendly and the mood as exuberant. It usually only gets really busy after midnight.
