What makes Hotel Amistad special

Amistad is not a design hotel but a small, personal guesthouse: nine rooms, all with their own shower, washbasin and WC, accessible only by stairs. Breakfast is included and served daily from 8 am to 12 noon at a large table in the shared kitchen, ideal for getting chatting with other guests.

The location on Kerkstraat is ideal for a queer Amsterdam trip: the bars of Reguliersdwarsstraat, Leidseplein, the canals and several museums are within walking distance. Reception is only staffed until 4 pm; if you arrive later, let them know your arrival time in advance. Twin rooms are limited and should be requested explicitly when booking.

Atmosphere and crowd

The hotel has been popular with gay travellers for years, and the atmosphere is family-like. At the shared breakfast you meet guests from all over the world.
