What makes Nobody’s Darling special
Angela Barnes and Renauda Riddle opened Nobody’s Darling in summer 2021 in Andersonville, the neighbourhood in Chicago’s north with many queer and lesbian venues. As early as 2022 the bar was a finalist for the James Beard Awards. In 2023 it expanded into the building next door.
The menu features mainly refined classics, a few elaborate drinks for special occasions and a small alcohol-free selection. The house cocktails use spirits from Black and queer producers wherever possible.
Atmosphere and crowd
Nobody’s Darling sees itself as a space for everyone, with a special focus on queer women and Black queer culture. The atmosphere is stylish and sociable, more lounge than club.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for good cocktails in a queer atmosphere
- are out in Andersonville

Not ideal if you …
