What makes NDQ special
NDQ is on Rue Beaubien in La Petite-Patrie, on the edge of Little Italy and far from the bustle of the Village. Its trademark is the mini bowling alley that gives the bar its name: quilles means skittles. There is also karaoke, drag, dance parties and sets by resident DJs. According to Google, the bar describes itself as women-led.
The cocktail menu and the low prices get praise, with one guest highlighting their negroni. There is also pizza, and in summer a terrace. On Fridays and Saturdays the party goes on until 3 am.
Atmosphere and crowd
NDQ is especially popular with the lesbian community, and all queers and their friends are welcome. Many guests are young creatives, students and regulars from the neighbourhood. The atmosphere is neighbourly, playful and intimate, and the music and friendly vibe get praise.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for the lesbian and queer scene away from the Village
- want to combine bowling and a party
- like fairly priced cocktails
Not ideal if you …
- want to go out early in the week
- are looking for a men’s bar
