Stargayte has been Leipzig’s gay sauna since 1997 and is one of the largest in Germany: 2,500 square metres with Finnish sauna, steam room, infrared sauna, whirlpool, three cinemas and a bar with kitchen, right in the city centre.

What makes Stargayte special

Stargayte opened on 14 March 1997 and is the top address for gay men in eastern Germany. Across 2,500 square metres there’s a Finnish sauna with daily changing infusions, a steam room, an infrared sauna, a whirlpool, an outdoor area with loungers, three cinemas, private and public cabins and a bar and kitchen.

There is no time limit: entry is valid for the whole day, and with the break card you can come back in free on the same day. If you were there on Saturday, the “Sunday again” card gets you back in on Sunday for €17.

Atmosphere and crowd

Because there’s only a limited offer in the Leipzig area, you’ll meet many gay and bisexual singles here. The team has been there for many years, the atmosphere is personal, and newcomers quickly feel welcome. With AIDS-Hilfe Leipzig there are regular free rapid tests for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis C.
