What makes STUDS stand out

STUDS opened in May 2022 as the city’s first bear and leather bar and has since expanded twice. On the ground floor there’s happy hour, bingo and trivia with tacos, and at the back the gear shop with leather, harnesses and accessories from Mexico. On the first floor there are shows, videos and house music, plus two go-go cages and a light show. At the very top, since the end of October 2025, is the Rooftop Garden, a quieter place for cocktails and conversation.

Every weekday has its theme, from Trash Disco on Monday and Underwear Night on Wednesday to Daddies Night on Sunday. In November there’s Leather Fever with the Mr. Leather Vallarta, Mr. Kink Vallarta and Pup Vallarta contests.

Atmosphere and crowd

The crowd is exclusively men: bears, daddies, chasers and the leather scene, locals and tourists alike. During the week it’s rather quiet and sociable; at weekends and during bear weeks it gets full and exuberant. The friendly staff, the shows, the music and the atmosphere get praise.

  • are looking for a big club to dance all night
Our tip: Come for happy hour in the early evening and catch the sunset in the roof garden. If you want to dance afterwards, it’s a few minutes’ walk to Industry and CC Slaughters on Lázaro Cárdenas.
