What makes the Flying Handbag special
The Flying Handbag opened in 1994 and was renovated inside and out in 2020. It is on Queen Street, the centre of Blackpool’s scene, just a few steps from the promenade.
There is entertainment almost every night, from quizzes and karaoke to drag shows with Miss Amber. The kitchen is open until late at night, and there is Sunday lunch on Sundays.
Atmosphere and crowd
Entertainment is the big theme in the Google reviews, and guests describe the atmosphere as safe and warm. The crowd is mixed, locals and holidaymakers, mostly between 25 and 60. It is relaxed in the afternoon and gets busy in the evening.
A good fit if you …
- like drag and cabaret
- love singing karaoke
- want to stay until the early hours
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for a quiet pub for conversation
- are looking for a men-only bar
