What makes Vivere stand out
The owner is Jay Venn, aka Mocha Diva, who competed in the second season of “Drag Race Thailand”. By day Vivere is a restaurant serving Italian classics, some with an Asian twist. Time Out mentions risotto with scallops and prawns or rack of lamb, for example. In the evening the music gets louder, with deals such as two-for-one cocktails on Tuesdays and free-flow on Thursdays.
The highlight is the drag show brunch on the first Sunday of the month, with performers from Hong Kong’s scene.
Atmosphere and crowd
The mood is sociable and playful, especially on brunch and free-flow days. Groups of friends from the queer community meet here who want to combine good food with drag.
A good fit if you …
- want to combine drag with good food
- are looking for a queer Sunday brunch
- want to eat in Causeway Bay before going out
Not ideal if you …
- want to party late into the night
- are out on a Monday
