Since 1996 Weissenburg has been Stuttgart’s queer centre: a volunteer-run house with a café, library, counselling and space for around 20 groups, from a choir to a trans café, open to the whole LGBTIQA+ community.

What makes Weissenburg special

The centre is run by the association Weissenburg e.V. In the café, associations and groups often take over the bar, such as the choirs Rosa Note and Musica Lesbiana or the sports club Abseitz, so every evening has its own atmosphere. There’s also a queer library, the Regenbogen Refugium project for queer refugees and the youth work “Burgjugend”.

Groups and counselling

A group meets almost every evening: every Tuesday the 50+ group, every Wednesday the Königskinder, Luna on Thursdays, the Regenbogenritter on Fridays, once a month on Sundays the TransCafé and an ace/aspec meet-up, plus game nights from Gay & Gray and improv theatre. Counselling is aimed at gay, bi and queer people as well as trans*, inter*, non-binary and agender people, also statewide.
