What makes Martinos special

Martinos opened in 1996 as a gay bar called Belvedere and quickly became a meeting place for the scene. Today it is a café and bar in one, in the middle of the Oststadt and just a few steps from Lister Meile. Its trademarks are Italian flair, openness and Mediterranean nibbles with wine and cocktails.

During the week Martinos is the place for a relaxed after-work drink, where groups of friends, colleagues and neighbours come together. At weekends the nights get long: for pre-drinks before the club, for the team’s theme parties or for a nightcap after the party. Google reviews praise the cocktails, the friendly team and the cosy atmosphere.

The crowd is mixed: gay men, women, queer guests and straight people from the neighbourhood. In summer the seats in the beach chair outside the door are in demand.
